Had I known this, I would have bought another one on the bay, or elsewhere. I always ask up front what issues, if any, before buying sight unplayed. Apparently, he bought the guitar from a government auction that seizes the sale of certain woods and then sells them on Reverb without 1st having them checked out thoroughly before selling them. The seller was shocked, as I suspected he would be, and acted in total denial that it had those issues.

So, it has been sent back for a full refund plus my shipping cost, too. I just couldn't see spending money on a repair on new purchase. Unfortunately, as it was a well made guitar and bought at a great price, I did not want to pay the $125.00 for a complete fret level job on a guitar I bought as a "new" guitar. Took the guitar to my tech, Bert Foster, here in north Georgia, and he recommended that I should return the guitar to the guy that I bought it from on Reverb, which I did today. Just enough to cause frustration in the upper registers.
#Dean acoustic guitar serial number lookup series
Since my last post about the Chicago Flame series V, I discovered a slight rise in the 13th fret at the 1st E string, and at the 17th fret as well. I'm hoping someone new something about these and maybe where different models are made, etc. 800 bones is a bit steep for me for an import that's gonna have horrible resale value. model or what to expect if I ordered one. So I'm wondering if this lower end model would be the same fret size and neck as the Anny. It has the neck listed as a "V" style, same as the model I really liked the feel of.

So I went digging on their website and saw they have a more stripped down Chicago series with no body binding for something like 550. I dunno if they come out of the same plant and it was just nicer because it was 799 vs. model seemed to have no country of origin that I could find. This one was made very poorly in comparison. They also had a Dimebag model, the blue one with the lightning.

Also, looking at some youtube videos it seems it may work pretty well in the classical position with your leg in the "V". It put my right hand in just the right spot for me. I don't care for the looks, but I'm on the hunt for something ergonomic and often times some of the funky shaped "metal" guitars are surprisingly comfy. Found myself in GC the other day and ended up trying a Dean ML.
